NAHREP HONORS CHAMPIONS OF HOMEOWNERSHIP
AT CONVENTION GALA
The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), announced the recipients of this year’s Founder’s Award, Chapter Awards, Champion Awards and its first ever Hall of Fame Awards, during a gala reception that concluded this year’s Marketing Convention and Expo last night in Phoenix, AZ.
FOUNDER’S AWARD
Presented by NAHREP’s co-founder Ernie Reyes, this year’s Founder’s Award for Exceptional Community Service went to Frank Sharry, Executive Director of America’s Voice, for his dedicated national advocacy advancing immigration reform, fair housing and citizenship for Latinos.
HALL OF FAME AWARDS
Graciously sponsored by Farmers Insurance, this is a brand new award category for NAHREP members. The Hall of Fame Awards recognize the top six regional individuals for their exceptional contributions to their communities and business involvement at the local level. Nominated by their peers and carefully chosen by a selection committee, this year’s recipients were:
• Sandra Cervantes, Region 2
• Tammy Baca, Region 3
• Marty Martinez, Region 4
• Alex Chaparro, Region 5
• Carlos ThurdeKoos, Region 6
• Carmen Bonilla, Region 7
Alex Chaparro was named as the Grand Hall of Fame Award winner.
NAHREP CHAPTER AWARDS
The Nevada NAHREP Chapter received this award for having the largest number of new members, from January through September, 2008.
The Miami NAHREP Chapter received this award for having the highest percentage of growth, from January through September, 2008.
NAHREP CHAMPION 2008 AWARDS
Yamila Ayad, President of Mission Home Loans and NAHREP Advisory Board Member received a Champion Award for her selfless, tireless leadership in building sustainable homeownership in our communities.
Craig Nickerson, Project Director of the National Community Stabilization Trust and NAHREP Board Member received a Champion Award for his unmatched commitment to and steady support of the financial growth of our association.
